June Favourites, 2017

These are a few of my favourite things 🙂

This month has been the month of trying out a lot of new things and stepping out of my comfort zone. I’ve enjoyed doing and using things that I may not have considered using ever before. Therefore it is safe to say that I have accumulated ALOT of things that I enjoyed using this month and will use again. I will definitely strongly recommend each of these products(or snacks!) for anyone reading this. So let’s get started!!

  1. Club, Orange flavoured Chocolate Bars by McVities

These chocolate bars weren’t released in India until a few months back. And ever since I have started eating them, I can tell that there is no turning back. The Milk chocolate used is of premium quality and the way it infuses with the orange bar, makes it absolutely heavenly. Although it is on the pricier side because it is a import, it will not let you down. They are my constants during a craving and I won’t ever give them up. Each pack consists of 8 bars, with a thicker chocolate at the sides than in the middle. It definitely makes it onto first place in my June favourites!

2. We were Liars by E.Lockhart

I will not go into the nitty gritties of this book as it was featured in my top ten must reads. This book took me by complete surprise in the most beautiful way. It starts of as a cliche romance novel, but takes an unexpected turn. No words can explain how necessary it is for one to read this book. It is easily one of the loveliest books I have ever read so far. It may not be as impactful as one would expect, but in the moment it will feel as if everything around you is crumbling. Seriously. Find your copy right here!

3. The Eyeconic Curling Mascara by Lakmé

This is by far my most favourite and most thoroughly used mascara. It’s curling wand is unlike one I’ve ever seen before. The formulation is such that my lashes do not stick together or clump. They are very separated, thus making it look more full and relatively longer. It is a much cheaper alternative to some of the high street mascaras. The wand makes it simpler to curl the lower lashes as well, making them look voluminous. It is also quick and easy to remove. I for instance, do not require any makeup remover to remove it. It comes off using luke warm water. Mascara acts as my holy grail make up product, what about you?

4. The Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Screen with SPF 30 For all skin types

Skin care during the summer is the most and should always be everyone’s priority. Being careful to step out of the house only after generously applying sunscreen will make a whole lot of difference to your skin. Over the summer, I was lucky enough to test out three different types of sunscreen, only to find one better than the other two. Although the skin deserves the best treatment and all of the best skin care products, Lotus Herbals acts as a cheaper alternative. It’s composition is perfect for a hot day and will not leave your face feeling greasy. Although a white screen, it blends in to all skin tones well enough to make it look as if there is nothing on. I have found it to be a very good product and it seems to be great against my sensitive skin. I would recommend a higher SPF for anyone who will be out in the sun for longer hours.

5. The Bellini Luxury Soap from The Scottish Fine Soaps Company

I am terrible at describing scents and fragrances, but that doesn’t stop me from describing it as one of the best scents I have ever come across. This cubic body soap is of the perfect size and is strategically planned to slide around your body perfectly. It smells expensive to say the least and weirdly, reminds me of my childhood. If I had know any better, I would describe it as the smell of a bag of candy mixed with class and elegance. (How Helpful was that!!) The soap is impressively moisturising and leaves me smelling great. Unlike most soaps, the scent remains and is loved by a lot of people. It comes in a box that makes it convenient to travel around with and it’s scent makes it easy to use all around the year. Definitely a favourite in this month of so many baths and such heat!

6. The Lemon Grass scented and coloured, three wick candle by HomeCentre

Lemon grass is a very subjective smell. One can either hate it or love it. As for me, I love lighting these three wick candles in the evening while playing the piano. It brings in a serenity and puts your senses to peace. They are scented perfectly, not too overwhelming and neither does it get overshadowed by other smells. It is surprisingly cheaper than most candles I have bought till date and has never failed me! If you love scents and candles as much as me, you should definitely give the candles at HomeCentre a try 🙂

7. Dior’s Purifying Foaming Cleanser with Crystal Iris Extract

This is one of my most holy grail products that I can vouch for. It is easy to circulate into the skin, keeping your face well nourished at all times. It cleanses as promised on the cover and takes off makeup with ease. Although on the pricier side, your skin deserves expensive products that keep it feeling great. Moisturising after using this face wash is best as the face wash does not act as a moisturiser.

8. Freedea Lemon Soda

Lemonade has been my all-time summer thirst quenching drink. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that this Lemon Soda makes it into my top favourites. As unhealthy as it may seem, this summer has been all about these fresh and frisky drinks. This lemon soda has great flavour and is a very balanced drink. It makes a great liquid to accompany most of your meals. Originated from the UK, this will always be my most recommended summer drink to anyone. If you do wish to be able to make such drinks yourself, do await my “Three Simple Summer Coolers” for some tasteful, simple drinks. These will be fun to make when you wish to impress your friends and family 🙂

9. Revlon Nailpolish in the colour Knotty Berry (478)

Although we are almost half way through the summer (at least in India!) I have been enjoying using this Revlon Nail polish in a dark wine or burgundy shade. Although I have never been the biggest fan of their make up or skin care lines, their nail polishes are quick to dry and highly pigmented. This colour, although autumnal in it’s appeal, looks very flattering against all skin tones. Pair this with some gold accessories and you will have a full outfit ready!

10. The coffee frappucino from Starbucks

This makes a great summer drink to help you through those hot summer mornings. It’s consistency feels great as you quench your thirst while enjoying the drink. Coffee acts as one of my most favourite ailments and being able to turn it into something so tasty makes me so happy. It is also easy to make and can be made differently by changing the ingredients used around. For those who enjoy much thicker drinks, this may not be the best cold drink. However, you can always opt for an iced mocha which is much thinner. They are really great to treat your taste buds right!

11. The Nikon D5100 Camera

Now that my blog is up and fully functional(yay!) I have started taking pictures for all of my blogs, hoping that they will be as picturesque as they are informative. This camera is a great size and can be carried around with me everywhere. The quality of photos too are great and very well focused. If you are planning to start a blog or start indulging in photography then you should definitely give this camera a shot!

These are the pieces that I have been enjoying thoroughly throughout the month of June. Comment down below telling me what you have been using and loving!
